Do you want to be a foster parent or a permanent parent to a retired racing greyhound? We can talk to you about the joys and tears of fostering. Spoiler alert: it is worth it. Other greyhound adoption groups are looking for foster families. KyG can put you in contact.

We have prior foster families that are willing to discuss the joys of fostering: teaching a track dog "regular" life, meeting new people, basic commands, and yes the rewards (and sadness) of knowing a job well done when it is time for the greyhound to go to their permanent home. Some did it for your hound... can't you do it for another?

If you cannot find the time and room in your home please consider making a donation. The "Donate Now" paw print can lead you to make donations through our PayPal account using KyGreyhounds@yahoo.com for the email, checks can be mailed too. Visit our Facebook page - KyGreyhounds or our group KyGreyhounds Friends for more information. Do not be confused with the PayPal path as Kentucky Greyhounds Placement is a dba of Pet Action Leauge. All donations go to support greyhounds in their quest for homes. Thank you. It's for the hounds!

Adopting any pet is a life long commitment, yours and the pets. Please be sure you are ready. Adopting a pet in need is fulfilling and rewarding, but could add some unique challenges. A Greyhound fresh from the track has never been in a home and your home must be "puppy-proofed", although the structure of track life usually makes them quick to potty train. Most of the Greyhounds that KyG place will have been in a foster home for evaluation and some training or may come straight to your home, with your permission. Once you have an approved Adoption Application, KyG will match a Greyhound to your home. Please allow time for the "Right Hound, Right Home" process to be completed. An approved Adoption Application, adoption fee and a completed and duly signed KyG Adoption Contract must be presented to KyG prior to recieving your adopted Greyhound. KyG adoption fee is currently $250. If you have questions or concerns, please email KyGreyhounds@yahoo.com or leave a message at 502-536-7594 and a KyG volunteer will be happy to get back with you.
